Four Steps to Achieve a Bouncy Blowout
Step 1: Detangle & Prep
After showering, gently comb and detangle your hair. For best results spray your hair with a leave-in conditioner as you detangle. This will help keep hair soft and malleable as you work. One of our favorite leave-in conditioners is the Matrix Miracle Creator! Leave-in conditioning products don’t just make your hair sleek and soft; they also help prime your hair for styling and smooth your hair cuticle to prevent breakage from brushing or styling.

Step 2: Prime
Now that your hair is detangled, we want to make sure it is primed and ready for styling. Spray in a blowout primer and dry your hair about 80%, keeping it slightly damp. The blowout primer provides an excellent foundation and helps the style stay in all day! An added bonus, it helps protect your hair from heat damage.

Step 3: Roll
As you get ready to jump into rolling your hair, make sure you work with small sections to keep your work clean and tidy. When ready, take your Amika Blow Dry Brush 2.0 and work through your hair. Start at the root and work thoroughly down the hair, keeping the brush elevated above your head with tight tension. As you move down your hair, turn the blow dryer towards your face to create a curling effect. After each section is dry, take a velcro roller and curl it into your hair starting at the ends and working up towards the root. Make sure you secure each roller with a creaseless clip.

Step 4: Finish
Before you take the rollers out of your hair, spray it with a light finishing spray to help ensure your hair keeps the curls. Once your hair has sat for a little while and is completely dry and cool, carefully remove each roller and gently brush each section with a wide-tooth comb or your fingers. We recommend using a dry texture spray at the end to lock in that volume and keep your hair looking stunning all day long!
